He carried this conviction through his time as a minister and was later inspired to become a peaceful Civil Rights Activist through the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi. He led many Civil Rights protests throughout his life, including the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the March on Washington where King gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
